2019 was Seahub’s busiest year yet! The team at Seahub are, at heart, ocean loving yachties. They enjoy being on the water, working with yachts, attending boat shows, crawling around engine rooms and traveling around the global to hand over accounts to our users.

Every new year is a change to recap on the year that has passed and set our sights on what’s coming up next. So, here’s our recap of 2019 and what we can look forward to in 2020.

Development

The largest development project tackled in 2019 was the Seahub mobile application. The App works completely offline and delivers an easy to use platform for managing Seahub on the go. Since the launch of the app users have joined in the South Pacific and west coast of Africa which has thrilled the development team. Why was the mobile application such a priority? Because our users told us it was! Thanks very much to everyone who worked with us during the mobile app development.

Version 3 of the App is just around the corner.

While we were at it, we launched new features on the online web version including a new dashboard design that provides greater visibility into your Documents expiration status.

Other features included improvements to how maintenance is displayed. Tasks can now be completed on the 30 day calendar which allows for a great overview of your maintenance position.

Seahub's Mobile App is readying for Version 3!

New Users and Projects

Seahub was chosen as the preferred planned maintenance system for several new build projects in Holland, Italy and the US throughout 2019. The Seahub Account Set Up team didn’t need much convincing to attend the respective shipyards and refit facilities where the projects were underway. Working with new builds is incredibly rewarding as you work with the crew through the various build milestones and see a yacht come to life.

We have enjoyed the opportunity to visit shipyards in Australia – including the Echo Yachts facility in West Australia. Located in a beautiful part of the world, the facility there is world class. Other great Australian based facilities are The Yard and Gold Coast City Marina, both located in Queensland.

Superyacht Events

Proud Dad moment! In May 2019, Seahub was lucky enough to win three awards at the Australian Marine Industry Awards on the Gold Coast. One of these awards was for the Best Exporter of the Year, an award the whole team feels incredibly proud to have won. It was a busy year with Seahub attending METS, Miami Yacht Show, Fort Lauderdale Boat Show, West Palm Boat Show, Cannes and Monaco Yacht Show.  Boat shows are a great time to see the latest and greatest technology and products but as equally as enjoyable is the chance to run into old friends and common contacts you have created by working in this close-knit industry.  The people who work in the superyacht industry make this the most rewarding occupation in the world.

What’s on for 2020?

2020 is shaping up to be full steam ahead year with the addition of two new members in our Account Set Up team. We welcome our new team members who have spent the last 6 years working as engineers in the superyacht industry in the US and Mediterranean.

Seahub will be attending the YARE conference in Viareggio, Italy, in March, the ASMEX conference in Australia in May and also exhibiting at METS in November.  We would love to see you there!

From a development perspective, we are expecting to release version 3 of the mobile app by the end of January and also add Inventory Minimum Levels in the next update.

Throughout 2020, we will continue to advance Seahub through listening to user feedback and with the best developers in the industry, we plan on staying up to date with the latest trends and best practices.

Thanks to everyone we have worked with and worked alongside in 2019! We look forward to forging new contacts and friendships in 2020.
